Legacy of Excellence in Concrete Construction
When it came to choose a company name I struggled with what I wanted to do. I needed something that was different but did not know what.
My father owned a concrete company on Long Island, NY for over thirty years called Steve & Sons Concrete. So therefore I thought, what a more fitting way for me to keep his memory alive and honor him than by naming this company after his.
My father was a Portuguese immigrant who came to the United States in the sixties to start a new life. Upon his arrival, there was the language barrier of course, as well as adjusting to living in a new country, but his travels from one end of the world to the other allowed him to adjust quickly. He was like that, intelligent and agile, committed to succeeding.
As a teenager I spent my summer vacations working alongside my father. Those years provided an invaluable education for me. I learned early on that honesty and integrity were essential ingredients for success. As we completed project after project he also taught me that hard work, persistence, and a passion for quality results are ultimately what provides good value to customers.
I’ve brought those qualities to my concrete construction career for more than 30 years and they’ve never let me down. My father’s legacy of excellence lives in me and Steve & Sons Construction today.
